American Tribal Style Belly Dance (ATS), is a defined set of movements rooted in the traditional dances of North Africa, Central
Asia, and India. ATS is known for its strong posture, defined isolations, subtle cues, group formations, and improvisational style. Tribal fusion is known for its locks and pops and modern influences. In a unique collaboration between the directors of Kamalah, an ATS group, and Divine Chaos, a tribal fusion group, this workshop will cover basic moves of ATS and use those moves in tribal fusion combos. Tribal is becoming a universal language. If you know the basics, you can dance with anyone else from anywhere else in the world without any words at all. This workshop is appropriate for beginners through advanced.

Great for Cabaret or Tribal…
Do your zills intimidate you? Does your body forget when your hands start to play? This workshop will get you playing 3 common rhythms and still keep dancing! Through progressive drills and fun combinations, we’ll explore Ayoub, Saidi, and Wahda Kabira . You’ll also learn practice techniques and drills to keep you going at home. For more experienced players, we’ll be adding variations and learning to play in a “more musical” fashion. Bring your zills… More thrills await you!

Want to add an element of elegance to your technique & sophistication to your dance making skills? In this workshop Carrie teaches a variety
of her favorite dance combinations with an emphasis on form & solo performance savvy. Participants will drill isolations & layering technique
to warm up and then learn several classy & dynamic dance combinations that fit well with solo cabaret style performances. Carrie will also share insightful tips for creating your own dynamic combinations & optimizing your solo performances skills. This class is great for all dancers wanting to add some new dance combos to their repertoire & learn techniques for enhancing their dance making and performing skills.
